About Memolotl Apps
We build tools for people who want to pay attention to their own lives.
It started with a cup of coffee. One morning it's right—the coffee bean, the grind, the water, the timing—and the whole day runs downhill from there in the good way. The next morning you can't remember what you did differently. That small thing you can't get back is the same shape as the big things you can't get back. The mornings that worked. The stretches you were happy and forgot to notice.
Most tools don't help with that. They want you polished. They want a system, a template, a well-formed thought. So the days pile up unlogged, and the ones you don't notice are the ones that quietly disappear.
We don't care if it's polished. What matters is that you paid attention, and you showed up.
What we're building
Think of it as sailing. You navigate your attention and live with the weather. We build the instruments—where you've been, where you are, and the direction you're drifting.
Because that last one is the honest part. Life is full of tradeoffs and that's fine. You chose what you chose, however you make those choices. A tool worth using shows you the shape of them instead of pretending they weren't there.
Memolotl is our first: a private place for the unpolished first draft of your life. A tap, a photo, a sentence, a long entry at midnight—whatever showing up looks like on a given day.
What we're against
Friction. Every step between a thought and getting it down is a day you don't log. Opening your phone is already too much. We want your life catchable from your wrist, your phone, wherever you are—and we'll keep cutting until it's closer to that.
Guilt. Yes, we count the days you show up—attention compounds, and it's easier to see what you're building when you can see the run. But life happens, and a broken streak isn't a verdict on you. Come back and start again. The point was never the number, it is the practice.
Watching you. Your entries are stored on your device by default. There's no Memolotl account, no Memolotl-operated content server, and no analytics telling us what you wrote or when. If you choose to export your entries or enable iCloud sync, a copy may leave the device through the destination you choose or Apple's iCloud service. The choice stays with you.
Where this goes
We want to build something that remembers what you didn't have time to notice, and hands it back when it matters. Not to score your life—to show you both sides of it honestly, the hard stretches and the good ones, and to remind you, on a day you need it, that you have been happy before. That it's available. That you can choose it again.
Self-discovery and self-authorship is the problem we want to spend our life on. If we can make something genuinely useful and earn a living quietly doing it, that's the whole plan.
Built by a small crew in Vancouver.
If that sounds like your kind of voyage—welcome aboard.
